Here you will find extensive information and, of course, lots of pictures relating to travel photography, photo trips and photo travel workshops. It’s about interesting travel destinations near and far for all those who love photography. But it’s also about image composition and photo motifs away from the Eiffel Tower and Golden Gate Bridge, because photography and travel have been my favorite pastimes for many decades. But also the optimal photographic equipment when traveling and many practical tips from professional travel photographer Karl H. Warkentin are topics here.
The travel tips for photographers contain reports on photo trips or photo travel workshops that I have organized, special places of interest for all photo enthusiasts on photo trips and personal recommendations for restaurants, hotels, etc. The travel tips for photographers are supplemented by tips on suitable photographic equipment for the destination and tips on motifs off the beaten tourist track.
The pages on photo tips and equipment for photography and travel provide information and explanations on photographic equipment when traveling, special challenges in travel photography and many practical tips from professional photographers.

I have a few trips planned again for 2024. In May, after the Corona break, I’m finally doing another photo workshop in Marrakech and the surrounding area. At the end of July I have the opportunity to do another wonderful workshop with the painter Cesare Marcotto in a monastery near Verona. And in December, we’ll be going to another photo workshop in Venice. If you are interested, you can find out more at WARKENTIN – WORKSHOPS. But I have even more plans for this year: I will visit the East Frisian Islands with my caravan and if it works out, there will also be a trip to “the island”. I am of course referring to Great Britain, where I have friends in Wales, a very beautiful, photogenic landscape. So there will be no boredom!
